Eight cows had a near-death experience this week when the driver of a truck transporting the unfortunate bovines pulled into a McDonalds restaurant in Utah. When the rear gate of the truck accidentally fell open in the parking lot, the cows headed for the hills (in the opposite direction from the pearly gates).
Area police, along with at least one local resident (on horseback) spent two hours rounding up the errant hoofers, who seemed determined to keep mooving away from the truck – and the restaurant.
The cows (who were eventually returned to the truck unharmed) had no comment at the scene, but have apparently issued a statement requesting that future lunch stops occur at Chick-Fil-A.

Complete rabbit trail, “have apparently issued a statement requesting that future lunch stops occur at Chick-Fil-A” conjured up the memory of the time when we lived in the same city as my parents. My daughter was a charming three-year-old who I taught to say (very sweetly), “Grandma, please take me to Chick-Fil-A.”
CHarmed her grandmother. Got her mom out of cooking a few meals for her. Taught Lovely Daughter the value of saying “please”–sweetly. A win all around for me. Especially since I had both 1. the chuckle of 2. having “manipulated” my mom–second hand–into enjoying some time with her granddaughter (something that, admittedly, was not a difficult task at all, at all, just a matter of making her slow down and take a few sniffs of the daisies strewn along her path).
