The Granola State has once again crowned a winner in thecontest for the “world’s ugliest dog.”
The competition, which takes place annually in Petaluma, California, draws entrants (and observers) from across the country and even overseas.
This year’s winner, a Chihuahua/Chinese Crested mix named “Elwood,” took second place last year (a fact I find difficult to believe, primarily because it strongly suggests that somewhere outthere you can find an uglier dog than this one). The dog’s owner rescued him from euthanasia two years ago, when the breeder responsible for his *cough* appearance wanted to destroy him because “she thought he was too ugly to sell.”(She might have been right about the sale part.)
Congratulations, Elwood. The rest of the world feels a little more handsome today … because of you.
