Thursday 13: New U.S. Postal Slogans

Filed under: Thursday Thirteen — Random Yak @ 11:06 am on May 17, 2007

This week’s Thursday 13: brought to you by the new U.S. Postal Service regulations. (Yes, I’m still angry – but at least now I have permission.)

Thirteen Proposed New Slogans for the United States Postal Service

1. Would you like extra postage with that?

2. Fighting envelope obesity since 2007.

3. Just like FedEx – without the flat rate pricing or guaranteed delivery!

4. See what Blue won’t do for you!

5. Where calipers are king.

6. We don’t like double-stuffed Oreos, either.

7. ‘Flat rate mailing’ is so 2006.

8. Where mailing marshmallows will cost you double.

9. Uniformity is job #1.

10. No, we’re still not open on Christmas.

11. Mailing is 1% preparation, and 99% pure frustration.

12. Where fat envelopes always cost more than skinny ones of the same dimensions.

13. We never promised it would get there for 42 cents.

[Note: I easily could have extended this to about 20, if the blog's style sheet had permitted some of the less socially-acceptable puns. Fortunately for all of us, it didn't.]

  2. *heh*

“13. Slavishly following a meme or preset pattern for a post.”

    *LOL*

Oh. Well. It’s not as though I don’t make that same Blogging “Blunder” every Thursday… ;-)

But seriously, folks yaks, is there any end to the snarky comments that one can make about snailmail?

  3. Nope. Which is one of the things that makes blogging about it so much fun.

As far as slavisly following memes and preset patterns – that particular error describes my entire blog-to-date. But then, I make no pretense about the fact that I happen to enjoy beating dead horses for fun and … well, ok, maybe there’s no profit in it, so I’ll stick with “fun.”
