Based on the response to the original “odd city names” post earlier in the week and the principle that “if it was funny before, it will be funny the second time,” here is my
Thursday 13: Odd City Names
1. Fearnot, Pennsylvania (California is much, muchmore strange.)
2. It, Mississippi (That pretty clear)
3. Fan-y-Big, Wales (I’m gonna let that one sit on its own merits.)
4. Forget, Saskatchewan (It’s too cold anyway)
5.Poverty, Kentucky (When you’ve got nothing else to brag on.)
6. Weed, California (Maybe they’re better off with ‘poverty’)
7. You Bet, Nevada (But the house still wins 9 of 10)
8. Unalaska, Alaska (Pretty un-alaskan of them, isn’t it? – And yes, I know that’sapparently why they named it that way.)
9. Many Farms, Arizona (Somehow I doubt it.)
10. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales. (If you can pronounce it, you’ve got one up on me, but it translates “The Church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tisilio’s of the red cave. Included due to mandatory Yak rules regarding fun poked at the Welsh.)
11. Ham, UK (Mainly funny because it sits so close to “Sandwich”)
12. Nothing, Arizona (I got nothing…)
13. Divide, Montana (Into what?)

Thanks for the link, Bernie. And I’ll admit, it is a puzzler.
