The “I Do Not Need Help, Medication or Flowers” OTP

Filed under: Random Linkfests — Random Yak @ 11:14 am on February 12, 2007

Been cleaning out the spam filter again.

For once, I don’t need a chemical shower after seeing the offerings, which I take to mean Akismet is finally learning to identify and destroy communications from at least one category ofWebsites We Don’t Need to Hear From.

I did happen to notice that three months along, Akismet seems no betterateliminating spam comments fromanother classof obnoxious spammers, which tells me one of three things is probably true:

1. I really do need male-and-female enhancement drugs. (Nope. Try again.)

2. Akismet thinks I need male-and-female enhancement drugs, and is dropping a friendly hint. (And things must be pretty bad if even the computer is dropping hints.)

3. The spammers who create these things are constantly coming up with new and nefarious ways to get around my anti-spam settings, but fortunately cannot completely fool Akismet into letting them though. (The program does still want me to seriously consider my options, however…)

I’m also receiving a huge number of spam comments about gift items ranging from chocolates to flowers (and relationship self-help books…), which I take as evidence that The Observance Which Must Not Be Named cannot pass without notice even on the spammers’ side of the Googleverse.

So, for the record:

I do not want your little pills, or chocolates or hearts with frills. I do not want them here or there, I do not want them anywhere. I will notwrite them on my blog, I will not take them in the fog. No tolerance -not here, not there. Don’t send them to me anywhere.

I do not like your blogging spam, I do not like it, Spam-I-Am!

This is your Monday-to-whenever open trackback post. Linkand trackbackand I’ll fill in the link list as I can.
