Today is Groundhog Day.

Aside from inspiring annual wackiness (and one very entertaining film), Groundhog Day basically represents modern society’s admission that no matter howclose we come toglobal warming or some other environmental disaster, and no matter how advanced our meteorological science, it really all comes down to whether or not a shadow-phobic rodent decides he’d rather hit the snooze button.
