The end of the holidays and the beginning of the new year means a return to our regularly scheduled features, including Friday Frivol. (Also featured on Mondays and Wednesdays.)
For our new readers (or those moving a little slowly in the new year) on our side of the mountain, “Frivol” is a noun, meaning something random, entertaining and containing little or no immediately apparent relevance other than its entertainment value. The more entertaining (subjectively speaking) the better. And be warned – in case you hadn’t noticed, I have a mean streak and an odd sense of humor.
Today’s offering:
The driver of a big rig loaded with produce fell asleep at the wheel around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday while passing through Wasco, California. Predictably, the truck failed to stay on the road, jumping the curb and driving through a KFC restaurant.
Yes, I said through.
The truck ran completely through the restaurant andout the opposite side, taking out a brick wall and a shedbefore coming to rest in a private back yard. Fortunately, the restaurant was closed at the time and the truck missed both of the houses it could have easily hit after taking out the KFC.
Employees at the KFC are apparently being transferred to other stores while owners repair the damage.
No word on whether they expect to have another drive through.

And a special thanks to Ferdy, the Conservative Cat, for figuring out how to make Linkfest Haven Deluxe reformat for WordPress. I hadn’t objected to having to do the cut-and-paste boogie every time I submitted to multiple sites, but I admit it’s much nicer being able to transfer the links all at once.
