ANY Cause Will Do Open Trackback Weekend

Filed under: Frivol, Random Linkfests — Random Yak @ 2:23 pm on August 4, 2006

Sometimes, you just want to throw a party. And sometimes, any cause will do.

Case in point: the residents of Sleng village in Kampong Speu province, Cambodia, are throwing a party this weekend to celebrate an unusual (but important) milestone in the history of their village: all 94 familiesnow have toilets installed in their homes.

Flushed with pride, the villagers have planned festivities include speeches by local officials, performances by comedians and a balloon releasing ceremony. The highlight, however, will doubtless be a play put on by village actors. Theplot apparently revolves around the delightful theme: “how villagers will no longer have to defecate outdoors.”

For all of our sakes, let’s hope it’s interpretational rather than representational.

Help celebrate the freedom – open trackbacks to this post all weekend long. Pinged to Linkfest Haven – best place on the ‘net to find and promote linkfests.

First, I have to say something about Muslims: Is there a race or culture with so ugly a face as Muslims? Is it because they grow up with so much vile hatred for infidels that it gets reflected in their faces? I mean take a look; grim, ugly, stubble-c…..

  4. [...] Anyway, to answer Michele’s question regarding what I love about blogging, my favorite parts are posts like this, just talking about the sweet little guy and enjoying every moment (and all his messes too!). I’m saving all this for him to enjoy later in life – it’s more fun than a regular memories book and I can share it with everyone else too! I’ve been just amazed by the people that truly seem to enjoy hearing about my little guy and our exploits – with all the blogs and people on the web, you don’t expect to really be noticed or anything. I love all the sweet comments, many more than I can ever mention, I made a list of 13 sweet ones I received this past week and that barely brushes the surface. I also love the fun memes and contests and auditions, I’ve met such wonderful people through them and it’s great for traffic as well.
